Gloria Weiner - Biography

Gloria Weiner

Biography

Growing up in Chile as a young girl, Gloria loved to draw.  Art was a way to tell stories and express her impressions of the world. However, when she and her family moved to Venezuela during high school her pursuit of art was placed aside for, what others called, "more productive" careers to study.

Being an artist didn't seem like a possible career until a few years later when, after having moved to the United States, Gloria began taking art classes. Her first class was in design, where she discovered a love for color and texture. After finishing school, she worked in graphic and digital design, including a few years in the entertainment business as a creative artist. Then, she decided to start a family, and her art took a back seat.

When the pandemic hit, Gloria took out her canvas and started to paint again. Her first piece was based on nature. She wanted to show the beauty in small things, the often overlooked details: a single bright flower thriving despite its placement among dry bushes and weeds or grey rocks bathing in clear spring water, glistening in the sun.

Now, with a daughter in college and a son just out of college,  the time is right to paint full-time. Gloria lives in Los Angeles with her husband, and feels a great sense of humbleness, gratitude and joy to have the opportunity to do what she loves, be a fine artist.
